Retail Specialist (Desk Clerk)

Location: Lake Catherine State Park Hot Springs AR

Closing date: 04/25/2025

This position is responsible for all duties related to the visitor centers front desk operations. Job duties include greeting and assisting the public operating registers registering camping guests answering a multiline telephone assisting with inventory stocking resale displays and performing daily cleaning of visitor center. Applicant will complete other duties and activities as assigned. Excellent public relations skills are a must and applicants should be skilled in the Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel. Applicant must be able to work a varied shift including evenings weekends and holidays and must possess a valid drivers license. A criminal background check is required.

Position offers a full benefit package including paid holidays annual and sick leave health insurance and retirement pension.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus one year of experience in customer service bookkeeping or a related field. Other jobrelated education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements except for certification or licensure requirements upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.

Receives and confirms room reservations over the telephone accepts advance credit card deposits and maintains front desk operations. Mails room confirmations deposit receipts and/or refund forms to customers. Greets and registers guests and assigns rooms. Answers inquiries and provides information pertaining to hotel services guest registration travel directions and tourist attractions in the area. Keeps records of guests accounts and posts charges to guest registration sheets. Totals and balances cash register with receipts recorded and reconciles differences. Compiles daily activity reports. Makes wakeup telephone calls to guests and relays messages. May sell gifts maintain inventory of office supplies conduct security checks of lodge and grounds and assign work to custodial staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
