Position Summary

Using a community development approach this position leads develops coordinates and facilitates strategies partnerships programs and services related to houselessness and dignified encampment response. It is responsible for leading community engagement activities and providing consulting services to a variety of communitybased organizations stakeholders and partners to identify needs and the appropriate responses to houselessness encampments in the City of Regina.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and advice on municipal policies strategies and programs that address houselessness and encampment responses.
  • Identify community needs and facilitate the planning and delivery of services that support individuals facing housing instability.
  • Lead public consultations and analyze social trends related to houselessness and housing barriers.
  • Support the development of long and shortterm plans aligned with the Plan to End Homelessness and related housing strategies.
  • Build and negotiate partnerships with community organizations to strengthen encampment responses and housing supports.
  • Facilitate communitybased solutions that promote safety inclusion and wellbeing for all residents regardless of background or economic status.
  • Recruit train schedule and supervise staff as required.
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance the delivery of community programs and investments for vulnerable populations.
  • Represent the Indigenous Relations Department on interagency planning bodies and working groups dedicated to supporting those experiencing houselessness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • A fouryear University Degree in Social Work Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum of three 3 years of experience in community engagement program or policy development or direct work with organizations supporting houseless individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of needs assessment strategic planning and community development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading community engagement and facilitation processes.
  • Understanding of group dynamics participation processes and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with local social issues especially those related to houselessness housing barriers and community wellbeing.
  • Proven ability to analyze information solve problems and negotiate agreements that support community interests.
  • Excellent communication skills for public presentations written reports and training materials.
  • Strong relationshipbuilding abilities with experience working collaboratively across organizations community groups and public sectors.

Working/Other Conditions

  • Must have the ability to travel throughout Regina and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates may be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check per the City of Reginas Criminal Record Check Policy.
  • Proof of education is required.
  • Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies skills and knowledge.
