Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an experienced and innovative Mission System Architect (MSA) to lead our advanced technology team. The ideal candidate will have ownership and extensive expertise in designing developing integrating and delivering a complex Air Traffic Management (ATM) communication network with a strong emphasis on SDWAN architecture and requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of driving comprehensive architecture design and setting the technical direction for this missioncritical system ensuring it meets stringent performance reliability and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design development and implementation of a SDWAN architecture in a complex ATM communication network from customer requirements to ensure robust and efficient network performance.
- Create detailed architectural documentation and technical specifications.
- Oversee the implementation of network solutions ensuring they meet performance reliability and security standards.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on best practices and emerging technologies.
- Ensure the teams adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the team to implement robust security measures to protect the network from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Continuously monitor and optimize network performance and security.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- 8 years of proven legacy Telecom technology development experience (e.g. Frame Relay TDM)
- 6 years of emerging Telecom technology development experience (e.g. SDWAN OTN 5G LTE)
- 4 years of SWWAN technology development experience
- 8 years of proven experience in leading the efforts to design develop and integrate complex communication networks.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Air Traffic Management systems Air Navigation protocols and terminologies
- Relevant certifications in network architecture security (e.g. CCNP CISSP) and in SDWAN and network architecture.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards in the aviation industry.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) certification (ASEP CSEP or ESEP)
- Strong knowledge of network protocols architectures and technologies.
- Proficiency in network design tools and simulation software.
- Familiarity with security protocols and best practices in network security.
