Speech Language Pathologist
RANGE OF PAY: $75000 $85000 commensurate with experience.
SCHEDULE: Flexible
DEPARTMENT:Speech Therapy
SUPERVISOR:Director of Clinical Rehabilitation Services Senior inpatient/outpatient clinical therapists
Duties:
Consistently demonstrates a positive caring and responsive attitude towards employee and any individuals who interact with the facility.
Evaluation diagnosis and treatment of swallowing and communicative impairments due to functional neurogenic or organic disorders.
Development of appropriate long and short term goals and a thorough treatment care plan by which the patient/resident can progress towards goals. Modify care plan appropriately and in a timely manner when needed.
When appropriate effectively instruct patients/residents/families in technique and home programs by structuring content/presentation to appropriately reflect patients/residents/family members age communication abilities culture and educational level listens to their concerns and answers questions to the best of the therapists ability.
Leaves a written clear treatment plan on all assigned patients/residents.
Completion of initial evaluations clinical swallowing evaluations progress notes daily billing discharge summaries and all other miscellaneous facility forms as necessary.
Organize schedule of patient/resident treatments taking into account the work demands of other employees/departments.
Recommends equipment and/or supplies when inventory demonstrates the need to reorder.
Attends one or more continuing educational programs and/or equivalent annually and provides staff inservice.
Provide at least one inservice per year for the department facility staff as well as review current literature on clinical topics. Create a positive and constructive learning environment with the student.
Actively participates in own performance appraisal evaluation and sets selfgoals to accomplish during the following years. Successfully completes competency checklist/test. Maintains level of productivity as established for the department.
Participates in department QA programs including collecting of data analysis and documentation review.
Proficient computer skills and ability to work in electronic medical record software with timeliness.
Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facilitys corporate compliance plan and all governing laws. Adheres to the facilitys confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees as necessary to perform job duties.
Performs all duties as assigned by supervisor to ensure that the department operates as smoothly and efficiently as possible
