Job Summary/Description:
KWQC is searching for a contentdriven producer to join our news team. The candidate will be responsible for producing newscasts but also taking the lead in breaking news both onair and online. The ideal candidate will need to have excellent news judgment be deadline driven organized creative and have a great attitude. We are looking for someone who embraces new technology and can work in a multiplatform environment including social media and .
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for shooting and editing video and sound for all KWQC multimedia platforms
Gather news as a part of a team or on your own
Responsible for maintaining assigned gear
Must display competence in videography and video editing
Driving a company vehicle and any other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Belief in the power of local journalism
A winning mentality with the ability to identify the big story and own it.
Urgency in pressurefilled situations.
quality video.
Edit video with expertise.
Exceptional ability to tell visual and timely stories through video and sound
Strong writing skills using correct grammar
Must be extremely flexible to work longer hours throughout the year
A bachelors degree in journalism is preferred
Must possess a valid drivers license and good driving record
