Job Description
The Senior Information Technology Project Manager will be responsible for actively supporting and/or leading complex system and infrastructure projects or programs including the planning management and implementation of the assigned projects across the County Enterprise. This role will not only assist in creating critical project and program management deliverables (e.g. Project Charter Project Plans Critical Issues Log Analysis etc. but will also be expected to support the teams in achieving priorities goals and strategies with key stakeholders. This position will report directly to the IT Project Management Office (PMO).

Essential Duties
  • Adhere to Gwinnett County ITS PMO project management standards and methodologies for technology implementations based on waterfall agile or hybrid framework
  • Manage the planning assignment and of project tasks using Microsoft Project2019 and other standard tools
  • Deliverprojectsinaccordancewithbestpracticesforprojectdelivery;executinganyor all of the following:
    • Create and maintain key project artifacts throughout the project lifecycle
    • Development of projectcharter
    • Developmentofprojectplanandschedule
    • Provide consultation on operational and infrastructure requirements standards and configurations
    • Facilitateand documentprojectstatusmeetings
    • Distribute timely project status reports
    • Apply strong skills and experience in issue resolution influencing team members and other stakeholders conducting difficult negotiations and managing to stringent timelines for project deliverables
    • Monitor Identify and effectively mitigate risks to minimize impacts to project scope schedule costs or quality
    • Facilitate and document project closeout

Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting.
  • This job may require oncall rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.

Grade
The grade for this position is C451. Salary will be dependent on education and 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in information technology or a closely related field AND
  • Five or moreyears of professionalprogressively responsible financial experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Valid drivers license
  • Indepth understanding and practical experience managing projects using waterfall and agile development methodology principles
  • Excellent and very persuasive oral and written communication and executive presentation skills
  • Must be highly analytical and inquisitive with strong organizational abilities keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and goals
  • Ability to work in a teambased continuous improvement environment; ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMIACP) or similar certification
  • 7 years of professional experience
  • Advanced knowledge of concepts practices and procedures in managing IT technology projects
  • Experience in a large government environment
