We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to help enhance and optimize our missioncritical systems through data analysis design development and implementation of technical data solutions. We are looking for a proven leader with demonstrated success in consuming complex data and developing innovative solutions.

Primary duties include design and development of data infrastructure to extract and organize data across internal and external enterprise systems utilizing tools such as Denodo or Talend. Time will be split with software design and development using various products and technologies in a fullstack role . Other duties may include data and code optimization business process analysis architecture and design. You will use critical thinking to help maintain production operations conduct system troubleshooting and perform problem analysis. You will work closely with project stakeholders to scope estimate and provide overall technical leadership to develop and implement highquality technology solutions.


Additional duties may include collaboration with external stakeholders across the Nuclear Security Enterprise developing technical documentation and instructions.
Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • Developing data infrastructure to support application development.
    • Identifying relevant data.
    • Designing data structures.
    • Sourcing data (including all aspects of ETL: extract transform load).
    • Creating data summarizations such as reports dashboards and metrics.
    • Performing advanced data analysis to identify trends and forecast future events. This may include techniques such as machine learning.
    • Advancing our teams data utilization capability to enhance business value delivered.
  • Work closely with functional and business team members project management enterprise architects system engineers and application developers to design and develop missioncritical applications based on approved architecture and business requirements.
    • Design and implement innovative solutions to resolve complex IT and business problems.
    • Lead technical projects through effective communication with peers customers and management.
    • Ensure solutions are wellengineered optimized operable and maintainable.
    • Ensure adherence to defined project management policies changes management guidelines cyber security requirements and software quality assurance processes.
    • Interface with IT Project Management to deliver solutions on schedule with high quality and within budget.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Typical relevant experience ranging from 3 to 7 years
  • OR Masters degree
  • Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Information Systems Business Analytics or similar degree with at least 5 years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using tools such as Excel Tableau and programming languages (such as SQL Python and R) to perform analytics.
  • Knowledge of databases data warehouses business intelligence systems and data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence systems.
  • Knowledge required to perform data analytics that includes statistics decision sciences machine learning reporting technologies and/or predictive analysis.
  • Experience delivering effective communications both written and oral.

If a range of Career Levels is posted i.e. Senior Associate to Senior Specialist internal applicants already in one of the Career Levels would come across at their current Career Level. Internal applicants currently in a lower level Career Level would move to the lowest posted Career Level.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligencescope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
