Role Overview

Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Boston University Hillel as the Springboard Fellow. You will build one on one relationships with students plan and execute engaging events and programs around campus and help inspire students to make a commitment to Jewish life . If youre teamoriented never give up and truly believe that you must be the change you wish to see in the world then this is the position for you! Boston University Hillel is at the hub of a worldclass university in the thriving city of Boston right near Fenway Park. Home to 4000 Jewish undergraduates and 2000 Jewish graduate students BU Hillels mission is to inspire educate and empower BU students to lead meaningful and joyous Jewish lives.

At BU you will infuse creative innovation into all aspects of Hillels work. You will embrace challenges take risks fail and learn from the past while maintaining your passion and sense of humor. While your work will be grounded in BU Hillels mission vision and values you will specialize in creating an environment that helps BU students lead meaningful joyous and Jewish lives. You will do so by utilizing the main tenets of 1x1 engagement growing the BUJewish Leadership Team (BLT) and planning signature events aimed at bringing the Jewish community together.

Youll wake up each day (or at least most) and be genuinely excited and enthusiastic about creating an inviting place that inspires students to explore experience and create vibrant Jewish lives. This is so much more than your average 9to5.

About The Springboard Fellowship

The Springboard Fellowship is a paid twoyear fellowship that brings recent college grads with raw talent passion and skills needed to reimagine and redesign Jewish student life to college campuses across North America.

Trained in RelationshipBased Engagement HumanCentered Design and other entrepreneurial frameworks you will be exposed to the most successful initiatives from across the Hillel movement. Fellows will work with students to imagine create and refine experiences for Jewish life that dramatically impact student engagement efficiently and strategically apply and scale successful initiatives from across the movement and give birth to cuttingedge ideas that have the potential to transform how Hillel and creates inclusive spaces for #AllKindsOfJewish.

Were looking for people who embrace challenges take risks fail and learn from the past while maintaining their passion and sense of humor. Extensive Jewish education is not necessary just an interest in creating a vibrant Jewish community a commitment to learning and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students.

What Youll Do

GOALS:

  • Coordinating and managing the BU Jewish Leadership Team (BLT) of 200 students including recruitment mentorship and program implementation.
  • Serving as a strong Jewish role model and facilitating oneonone conversations with students.
  • Activating Design Thinking cycle to implement usercentric focus to Hillel strategy.

WHAT YOULL DO:

Coach and advise student leadership cohorts to cultivate a community that is caring diverse pluralistic and welcoming.

  • Expand BLT Fellowships and Internships according to student passions.
  • Support Shabbat Religious Life and Jewish learning by cultivating BLT projects in these interest areas.
  • Coteach one Jewish Learning Fellowship a semester.
  • Plan and implement mass scale signature programs such as Petting Dogs Latkepaooza Welcome BBQ and more!

What Youll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary for this role is $46000 $48000 in year one of the Fellowship and the salary is $48000 $50000 in year two of the Fellowship.
