Position Summary:

Technician Electrical Operations

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

To carry out electrical & controls maintenance to all areas of power system at the factory keeping equipment running at optimum efficiency with minimum costs. Undertake maintenance that minimizes downtime & follow up to prevent reoccurrence.

Functional competency:

• Operation Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution equipment for 415 volts 11kv and 66kv switch yard such as transformers generators auto voltage regulators switches circuit breakers LT Panels HT panels various switch yard equipment capacitors Harmonics filters and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Inspect and test installed electrical equipment and apparatus to locate electrical faults and check their operation using latest electrical instruments like voltmeters ammeters and other electrical test instruments and equipment.
• Repair replace and test faulty electrical equipment and apparatus.
• Prepare various maintenance reports & equipment history card.
• Follow compliance requirements.
• Responsible for completing assigned planned/scheduled Maintenance Tasks and unplanned/reactive/corrective activities to maintain the function and reliability of assigned assets efficiently and effectively.
• Carry out assigned scheduled maintenance tasks in a safe food safe and environmentally safe way and to the expected quality.
• Work with operations team to addressurgent equipmentdefects and act on opportunity windows
• Supportongoingreliabilityimprovementsforequipment and participate in Problem Solving Exercises as required
• Provide accurate and timely feedback and completion of assigned work orders with all required information
• Raise Notifications for identified corrective work requirements; Confirms time and TECOs work orders

Planned maintenance:

• • Responsible for of all reactive and preventive electrical maintenance work for 11kv & 66kv switch yard and power system.
  • Assemble install test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment applications device and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Carry out follow up work as scheduled in CMMS.
  • Monitor feedback of motors Transformers & instrumentation on SCADA system.
  • Carry out routine adjustments to prolong equipment life.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.
  • Recommend manager on electrical machinery condition inspection points as part of startup activities during new projects.
  • Carry out predictive maintenance of thermographic analysis etc.
  • Carry out complete power system preventive maintenance works.
  • Assist external vendors during service.
  • Work Order Review & TECO
  • Maintain equipment bill of materials accuracy.
  • Notification Backlog Aging
  • Inspection of new received electrical parts in engineering store.

2. Breakdown maintenance:

1. Diagnose malfunctioning systems device and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
2. Feedback to executive any followup as required.
3. Communicate with production operators on time scale of stoppage & any assistance that is required.
4. Check quality of delivered spares required to complete maintenance in time.

3. Engineering Improvements

1. 1. Propose improvements to increase efficiencies/ improve safety standards or assist production.
   2. Carry out approved improvements.

4. Safety

1. Undertake all maintenance tasks especially electrical safely with appropriate PPE & procedures.
2. Adhere to safe working practices such as working at height regulations like all equipment / motor covers are fitted securely.
3. Ensure equipment is correctly isolated (LOTO procedures)/ GETCO line clearance permits when maintenance is carried out.
4. No loose wires or electrical panels are open to the environment.
5. All floors are kept dry to minimize slips.
6. Identify & report any unsafe working conditions/ machine faults.
7. Propose plant improvements in terms of safety and carry out the same once approved.
8. Carry out regular safety inspections of working areas.
9. Responsible for pre and post monsoon maintenance activities.

5. General Maintenance

1. Keep electrical bay / workshop tidy & ready for repairs.
2. Test motor transformer and electrical components for stores to confirm operation.
3. Carry out repairs to parts removed if required & return to stores.
4. Assist with mechanical tasks as required.
5. Perform any other reasonable workrelated tasks as instructed by Executive/ supervisor.
6. Electrical support for company functions.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of CMMS SAP and Safety/ Quality/Environmental Management Systems.

Academic:

• Must have: ITI Electrician / Dip Electrical education with 56 years of experience in power system maintenance.
