Job Description
Long Lake 58 First Nation
is currently looking to fill the following positions
for the 2025/26 school year
with possibility for extension at
Migizi Wazisin Elementary School (MWES) and
1 Special Education Lead/ Coordinator
1 Special Education Teacher (MMSS
Migizi Miigwanan Secondary School (MMSS)
We are a First Nation located on Highway 11 near Longlac Ontario. Our student population at MWES is approximately 120 from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 and 65 students from Grades 9 to 12. Our history Cultural Programming Outdoor Education Literacy Numeracy Social Development and Technology are key focus areas of the curriculum. Circle of Security training and understanding and/or training in Attachment Theory would be considered assets. Our secondary school is inspected by the Ministry of Education annually. We offer benefits and pension package. OCT members will contribute into the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan.
Application Requir e ments :
- Must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- Specialist Education Specialist or in process
- A current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualifications
- Must have an awareness and appreciation of First Nations Culture
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A cover letter
- A resume including detailed work history and education information
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Certificate
- A current criminal reference check
- 3 professional references (one from current supervisor)
