Your opportunity

Dillons Atmospheric Services disciplineis looking for an Intermediate Air Quality Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to enhance Dillons air quality presence in Ontario which will include delivering existing work engaging new clients and building a dynamic team to work collaboratively with Dillons existing Atmospheric Services team.

At Dillon we operate as one team. This position is available at any of our Ontario offices: Toronto North York Ottawa Guelph Kitchener Chatham Hamilton Kingston London Oakville Windsor.

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Project Management & Design

  • Manage air quality projects for facilities (including oil and gas aggregate extraction and processing power generation industrial/manufacturing and municipal) transportation projects Land Use Compatibility assessments etc.
  • Provide technical support to juniorlevel staff on project work including monitoring modelling development of abatement strategies and regulatory liaison.
  • Provide technical oversight and reviews of regulatory projects including Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECAs) Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASRs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs).

Business Development

  • Coordination and implementation of business development activities related to air quality services including identification of opportunities proposal development and client liaison.
  • Work with client managers and business unit leads within Dillons business development and sales framework to identify support and pursue air quality related opportunities.
  • Business travel upon request.

Learning & Development

  • Commit to selfdevelopment ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Career development of junior staff including technical direction training recommendations coaching and mentoring.
  • Contribute to Dillons corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in environmental chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • . designation with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • 5 years experience in environmental consulting or related experience in air quality.
  • Demonstrated relationship with local regulators (e.g. MECP) through project delivery.

Experience

  • Experience in air quality related work is considered a must including:
    • emission inventory development.
    • emission estimates.
    • dispersion modelling (AERMOD CALPUFF CALRoads).
    • regulatory reporting.
  • An understanding of federal provincial and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to air quality.
  • Experience preparing emission summary and dispersion modelling reports (ESDMs) and other air impact assessments to support ECAs EASRs and EAs.
  • Familiarity with National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) and Canadian Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting programs.
  • Demonstrated abilities with project teamwork team leadership and client relationship building.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality solutionoriented consulting services.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with GHG quantification verification and reporting is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with MECPs environmental land use planning guides (Dseries Guidelines) and experience in application of Dseries Guidelines in land use compatibility assessments is considered an asset.
