Job Description

Summary

Position Summary
Design build and maintain the infrastructure and systems that enable effective data collection storage processing and distribution of research data. This is a critical role that enables effective and efficient datadriven research by providing the necessary infrastructure and support to accommodate complex data requirements and ensure data integrity security and accessibility.

Essential Duties

  1. Create and maintain relational and nonrelational databases ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
  2. Design develop and maintain data pipelines to automate the extraction transformation and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into research databases.
  3. Implement manage monitor and optimize data infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability.
  4. Develop and implement processes to clean validate and standardize data to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
  5. Ensure that data storage and processing comply with security standards and regulations.
  6. Work closely with data scientists researchers and analysts to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure and tools to support their work.
  7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for datarelated issues encountered by researchers and other stakeholders.
  8. Develop and maintain custom tools and scripts to facilitate data collection processing and analysis.
  9. Create documentation for all data pipelines infrastructure and procedures.
  10. Works with researchers statisticians and faculty to develop data analysis quality control and reporting plans for research projects.
  11. Prepares datasets and databases for analysis.
  12. Assists investigators in running analysis and presentation programs and prepares output of presentation quality.
  13. Provides training to other staff members biostatisticians and researchers as necessary.
  14. Periodic offhours support for system maintenance activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelors degree in computer science engineering data science or a closely related field.
  2. Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in a data engineering software development database management and/or clinical research role. Experience in research data management preferred.
  3. Special Training Certification or Licensure: None

Salary Range: $89208.44 $117978.17
