Were excited to invite passionate and qualified educators to apply for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher position for the academic year. This fulltime itinerant role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple schools delivering specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
As a Hearing DHH Teacher you will:
- Provide individualized direct instruction aligned with each student s learning goals.
- Adapt and modify curriculum to meet diverse communication and academic needs.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with general education staff to promote inclusive classroom practices.
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and IEP teams.
- Support communication between students educators and families.
- Offer professional development and resources to school staff.
Requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working with DHH students in a school setting.
- Valid Georgia PEL with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (required).
- Bachelor s degree in Deaf Education or Special Education (Master s preferred).
- Knowledge of the IEP process with experience in writing and implementing IEPs.
