Job Description
Head Chef Opportunity Luxury Restaurant in Cape Town
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Head Chef for a highend fastpaced luxury restaurant located in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional with a strong personality excellent leadership skills and a flair for creative menu development.
Salary:
R35000 R45000 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Schedule:
Monday to Saturday (restaurant closed on Sundays)
Working hours: 55 60 hours per week
Dinner service only (guests dine by reservation only)
Kitchen Environment:
Small kitchen team: 6 chefs
Fastpaced and dynamic kitchen atmosphere
Direct support from a dedicated Sous Chef
Emphasis on consistency quality and creativity
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all kitchen operations and staff
Lead menu development with creativity and innovation
Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
Ensure effective kitchen management including stock control and hygiene compliance
Train mentor and motivate kitchen staff
Collaborate with the Sous Chef to ensure smooth service and team cohesion
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar Head Chef or Senior Chef role within a luxury or fine dining environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
Must have a creative flair and a passion for menu development
Ability to work effectively in a highpressure fastpaced kitchen
Asian cuisine experience is a significant advantage
Strong organizational and time management skills
