The Role
Reporting to the Head of Data Management & Privacy Technology this role will be part of the journey in defining Data Enablement Roadmap in SEEK as well be part of the team that will be responsible for running the Data Management & Privacy Practice across our business and Data Steward community.
This is a leadership role that requires broad management engagement and influencing skills. This role provides a rare opportunity to work directly with senior leaders across our APAC region at SEEK and to help chart the evolution of data management and data practices to exploit the full value of data across SEEK business and operational units.
The Data Enablement Lead is responsible for overseeing the strategy implementation and governance of datadriven processes and initiatives across the organization. This position plays a key role in enhancing data accessibility fostering a culture of data literacy and ensuring that the right data is delivered to the right teams at the right time. The Data Enablement Lead will work closely with stakeholders from across SEEK to establish best practices and streamline data usage ultimately driving organisational success through the power of data.
Key Responsibilities
Data Enablement
Develop and drive implementation of a Data Enablement strategy and implementation roadmap across the organisation to ensure data is trusted accessible and understandable and actionable for SEEKs data consumers.
Identify and prioritise biggest pain points and opportunities to reduce risk or drive more value forom data via Data Enablement
Bring an expert point of view to frame recommendations and tradeoffs around Data Enablement
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to gain buyin to Data Enablement implementation roadmap
Champion data literacy programs including training building resources and provide ongoing support to uplift organisational capability in using data effectively.
Collaborate with other technology teams (Data Platform Engineering) to deliver agreed data enablement capabilities for Seek (including using AI and automation where appropriate)
Work with Data owners and stewards to identify SEEKs Critical Data Elements in order to focus on uplifting Data Quality and operational monitoring of ourSEEKs most critical data.
Data Ownership & Stewardship
Together with the Head of Data Management & Privacy establish the Data Ownership & Stewardship practice across SEEK
Educate data stewards about the importance of their role and foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
Collaborate with data owners and domain experts to create a culture where data producers understand care and have the tools to uplift their data quality addressing data anomalies discrepancies and inconsistencies.
Promote thinking of data as a product where data producers understand the value of their data for analytical use cases across SEEKs business and actively work to maximise the value of their data products for consumers.
Establish Data Stewardship and Ownership and build out the experience journeys communities capabilities and practices for Data Stewardship and Ownership
Define and enforce data stewardship policies ensuring consistency in how data is created stored and used across departments.
Educate employees about the importance of data stewardship fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
Data Management
Create and maintain systems and process to manage data glossaries taxonomies and classification systems relevant to the organizations marketplace operations.
Create and roll out the Data Management Policy Standards & Guidelines
Build data governance including any monitoring & reporting requirements
Create expected Controls for the lifecycle management of data including but not limited to Data Quality and Metadata Management.
Monitor access controls audit trails and datasharing agreements to safeguard sensitive information
Conduct workshops and training sessions to improve understanding of data governance principles and tools across SEEK.
Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with stakeholders across SEEK (i.e. Product Risk Legal Engineering AIPS Finance & People & Culture) in implementation of Data Enablement and Management framework across SEEK
Create and support communities of practice and active data citizenship
Create communicate and gain buyin for the change roadmap
Collaborate with other technology teams (e.g. Data Platform Engineering) to deliver agreed Data Enablement and Management capabilities for SEEK (including using AI and automation where appropriate)
Qualifications :
The Team
This role supports the Data Management/Governance & Privacy Function and Practices Function. The role also contributes to the SEEKs Data Trust Committee and Citizenship Committee. Other forums and committees will be established during the build out of the framework and function including Data Quality forums for example.
The extended team will span Melbourne New Zealand Singapore Kuala Lumpur Thailand Indonesia Philippines and Hong Kong.
Data is key to everything SEEK does and as such this role is accountable for ensuring we have a SEEK wide approach to enabling use of our data whilst ensuring it is effectively managed and protected.
Qualifications Skills and Experience
Extensive experience leading and uplifting Data Enablement in modern data ecosystem
Proven experience in establishing / executing data stewardship programs in a mediumtolarge organisation ensuring consistency in how data is created stored and used across departments.
Proven ability to lead crossfunctional initiatives and drive organisational change.
Strong understanding of data lifecycle management standards such as DAMADMBOK (Data Management Body of Knowledge).
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (APAC and Asia) and data privacy laws impacting data retention and lifecycle management.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills to bridge technical and nontechnical audiences.
Experience with data lineage and impact analysis in complex data ecosystem
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Other Qualifications Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge of data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau Looker).
Proficiency analysing and working with data and familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and services (e.g. Databricks AWS)
Understanding of data pipelines ETL processes and data integration tools (e.g. Airflow Databricks or similar).
Knowledge of data management tools such as DataHub Databricks Unity Catalog Open Metadata Collibra Alation or Informatica.
