Job Summary
The Systems Engineer will focus on the integration of hardware into software contributing to the full development lifecycle of highprecision glass stress metrology instruments. This role requires expertise in imaging systems hardware development and electronics with opportunities to grow software engineering skills. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert on the instrument focusing on functionality setup and optimization. While this role includes leading initiatives it does not involve direct people management.
Key Responsibilities
Design develop and integrate hardware components such as cameras motors optics lasers and control boards.
Leverage knowledge of imaging systems and electronics to develop efficient hardware integration techniques.
Optimize instrument performance by resolving bottlenecks and hardware integration issues.
Engage in all stages of the product lifecycle from concept to deployment focusing on hardware integration.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define design and deliver innovative hardware features.
Provide expertise in troubleshooting and developing complex hardwaresoftware solutions.
Stay updated on advancements in physics optics hardware and electronics through workshops publications and professional networks.
Expand technical knowledge in software development hardware integration and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Physics Electrical Engineering Optical Engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience (Master s degree preferred).
Strong expertise in imaging systems engineering and electronics.
Experience in hardware development and integration.
Practical knowledge of optical and laser hardware.
Background in instrumentation particularly in metrology or related fields.
Intermediate software engineering proficiency with a willingness to develop these skills further.
Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
Handson experience with hardware integration and APIs.
Knowledge of motor control and associated hardware interfaces.
Strong understanding of MVVM architectural patterns.
Familiarity with modern unit testing frameworks and WPF/MVVM frameworks.
