The Hennepin County Behavioral Health area is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Mental Health Center (MHC) a state Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) dedicated to offering wideranging mental health and substance use disorder care.The person hired for this role will assess and provide ongoing psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents with mood disorders attentiondeficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) conduct disorders autism spectrum disorders developmental disabilities and other serious emotional disorders. This work will also include assessing and providing ongoing psychiatric treatment for adults with various mental health needs. This person willwork closely with staff psychiatrists psychologists psychotherapists nurses and other nurse practitioners to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to Hennepin County residents.

Location and hours:
This onsite position is located at theMental Health Center (MHC) in the South Hennepin County Human Service Center at 2215 East Lake Street Minneapolis MN 55407. Typical work hours are between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday with limited early evening hours. No weekend overnight or holiday shifts are required. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefitearning employees is inperson in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position you will:- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients psychiatric medical physical and psychosocial status.
- Provide ongoing medication management for patients including assessing effectiveness and adjusting medications for optimum effectiveness with minimal side effects; consult with other providers and family members.
- Provide direct care monitoring and/or referral for clients with cooccurring physical/medical conditions and cooccurring mental health and substance use disorder.
- Obtain consultation with other prescribers and/or primary care physician.
- Provide psychiatric consultation and/or care coordination to other providers.
- Document all interactions and findings in electronic health records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Function as part of a multidisciplinary team in support of the MHC goals and mission.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts aimed at equity and disparity reduction.
Need to have:- One of the following:
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota and National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (CNP).
- Possession of a valid license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota.
- Certification as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNHMP).
Nice to have:- Experience:
- Working with children families and adolescents.
- Providing services at a community mental health setting.
- Providing support to clients experiencing cooccurring mental health and substance use disorder struggles.
- Working with diverse populations in race ethnicity age gender and sexual orientation.
- Providing outpatient psychiatric care in community mental health or other outpatient settings.
- Working with Epic or another similar electronic health record system.
- Ability to establish collaborative working relationships with clients families and other service providers
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and issues of diverse and disenfranchised persons and families.
- Knowledge of traumainformed care and other clinical best practices.
- Knowledge of child protection and juvenile justice systems.
