The Staff Software Developer is responsible for designing and developing advanced hardware and software solutions for one of the worlds top life sciences companies. The incumbent will work closely with our software applications and research associates as well as with other functions to design and develop Mass Spectrometer software products and capabilities.
This position reports to the Software Development Manager Chief Software Architect and is part of the Software Department located in Concord Ontario Canada and will be an onsite role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Analyze problems to deliver creative logical and effective solutions using good design principles that satisfy functional and nonfunctional requirements.
Design and develop critical platform infrastructure components using advanced concepts like threading/async programming.
Develop high complexity modules/subsystems for controlling analytical instruments and data mining with intelligent algorithms.
Evaluate and recommend new software development technologies tools and practices.
Mentor senior team members and peer review product artifacts including requirement specifications design specifications and code.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Longstanding experience 9 years) in designing and developing applications using OOP/OOD. Minimum 5 years of experience in C#/.NET.
Experience with design and implementation of ntier systems reusable libraries and development frameworks.
Proven experience working in a crossfunctional team of technical and nontechnical personnel.
Familiar with modelling techniques like UML to document design and architecture of software components.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Mass Spectrometer and/or other analytical instruments
Cloud technologies
