The Applied Machine Learning (AML) group at Redfin works towards redefining real estate in the customers favor using machine learning. We work on foundational problems in the real estate space including recommendations (Where should I live) and price estimation (How much is a home worth). We have real estate data at a national level and work across various domains in machine learning using largescale multimodal property data (documents images text video 3D scans etc.. AML also owns and maintains endtoend productiongrade largescale machine learning infrastructure and systems serving hundreds of millions of consumers.
As a Senior Software Engineer for the Applied Machine Learning Team your job is to define and own the application architecture that delivers highvolume highscale ML products to Redfins customers. Your domain will include Python applications transforming data for batch and realtime purposes as well as developing and operating APIs that serve Redfins models and related business logic. You will work with an experienced group of machine learning engineers and researchers with robust research to production culture. This is a role for a backend expert: youll do everything from data at rest through to packaging API results for the web or streaming out to other teams at Redfin. But you wont have to write CSS. :
The Role:
You will work on Redfins machine learning platform creating new data pipelines and tooling to help scale our solutions for the #1 brokerage website for 2024 with 7x the traffic of our next closest brokerage competitor
Youll build products and tools that drive some of the companys most critical metrics and impact revenue growth. We are helping create the best possible home buying or selling experience one feature at a time.
You will assist with debugging and recovery when incidents arise.
You will drive team efficiency improvements and share your learnings with other engineers across Redfin.
You will keep our systems up to date with current best practices and tooling including monitoring logging and deployment tooling.
Who You Are:
You have 5 years of experience in Software or Systems Development
You have demonstrable experience designing building monitoring and operating robust scalable backend cloud infrastructure that efficiently processes millions of records per minute.
Python development experience in a large or complex application Service Observability public cloud deployment experience (AWS Azure or GCP)
Specifically you have extensive production experience with large highcomplexity python services used by millions of users and own the full lifecycle of Tier 1 APIs
You are a thought leader able to identify solutions to difficult problems and lead these solutions to implementation
You have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
Participate in an oncall rotation providing timely support (approximately one week every 45 weeks).

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements.
Base Pay Range: $146500..00. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances including the position location individual qualifications market finances and other operational business needs.
