Job Description

General Summary of Position:

We are seeking a parttime bioinformatician to work on a project in the field of social epigenetics and bioinformatics. This position will focus on the development and implementation of simulationbased approaches to study DNA methylation dynamics. The researcher will be responsible for designing novel computational methods performing data analysis and contributing to grant application and manuscript writing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement computational and statistical models to simulate DNA methylation patterns and their biological implications.
  • Analyze and interpret DNA methylation datasets compiling integrating and preprocessing microarraybased datasets where necessary.
  • Maintain clear documentation of code methods and results to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including molecular biologists bioinformaticians and clinicians to refine models and validate findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and funding proposals.
  • Prepare highquality scientific manuscripts for publication in peerreviewed journals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics Computational Biology Biostatistics or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in computational modeling statistical analysis and simulation techniques.
  • Proficiency in the R programming language for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience working with microarraybased DNA methylation data or other omics data (e.g. EPIC arrays).
  • Familiarity with machine learning or Bayesian approaches for epigenetic data analysis is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in peerreviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
