Under the general supervision of the PACE Transportation Supervisor the Transportation Aide supports various aspects of the day center transportation services by assisting with administrative duties such as vehicle maintenance logs and invoice reconciliations.
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00pm
Compensation: $25.11 $26.36 an hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist supervisor with completion of admin monthly logs and daily employee logs.
- Assist supervisor with invoice reconciliation.
- Assist supervisor with keeping vehicle maintenance and registration up to date and in compliance.
- Assist in the office with daytoday operations.
- Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).
- Attends staff meetings and takes part in participant care planning as needed.
- Remains available to serve as a driver when required.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Moving lifting or transferring patients may involve lifting or pushing greater than 30 pounds should be done with assistance as appropriate.
- Must be able to hear those served on the phone and inperson and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
- Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos a computer screen personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work must be able to bend squat and sit stand stoop crouching reaching kneeling twisting/turning fingering and feeling.
Work Environment
- Exposure to biohazards including infectious material and waste and any other conditions common in a health care environment.
- Subject to unpleasant odors.
- Exposed to outdoor elements of heat cold and rain when transporting patients.
- The noise level is usually quiet to moderate but may at times be noisy and crowded.
Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid CA Drivers License acceptable driving record and vehicle insurance.
- Completion of defensive driver course upon hire.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Only act within the scope of authority to practice.
- Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Central Valley PACE and approved by CMS before working independently.
- Working knowledge of a personal computer; intermediate knowledge of Excel.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent required or Class A in lieu of education.
- Minimum of two 2 years experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs school bus driver or transit/intercity bus driver.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
- Certified Nurse Assistant or personal care assistance preferred.
