The City of Abbotsfords Planning and Development Services Department is seeking an experienced and selfmotivated professional to join their dynamic team as an Environmental Coordinator. As the City of Abbotsfords newest Environmental Coordinator you will assist planning and development services with addressing fisheries wildlife and related ecological matters arising from development. Your role will involve advising on the impacts of urban development construction projects agriculture resource extraction and other human activities on the ecological systems within the City. You will make recommendations on both protecting and enhancing fish and wildlife habitat and minimizing ecological disruption.
You will review development applications for compliance with environmental regulations provide technical expertise to staff develop and maintain environmental policies perform field inspections respond to public inquiries liaise with environmental organizations lead biophysical data projects participate in educational programs and prepare grant applications.
Qualifications:
This position is unionized CUPE Local 774 and the hourly rate of pay is from $46.35 to $54.53.
