Youth Evaluator (Summer) Program Innovation

Job Summary

The Youth Evaluator (Summer) is a parttime contract role for a former Tim Hortons Foundation Camps participant who is interested in elevating youth voice in evaluation at Tims Camps. In this role the successful candidate will assess and provide feedback from a youth perspective on current evaluation tactics to improve future programming and organizational practices. Additionally this role will design and execute their own evaluation project based on Tims Camps strategic priorities. This role will report to the Director Program Innovation.

Work Location

Depending on the successful candidate this role may be entirely remote or a hybrid role. If hybrid this role will be based out of the Home Office location in St. George Ontario. Working hours will be agreed upon and documented upon acceptance of an offer. The oneweek contract November 10th 14th 2025 will be for conference attendance and travel to Kansas City Missouri United States.

What would you be doing

Providing youth perspective on current Tims Camps programming

  • Advocate for and on behalf of young people in programs designed for them.
  • Review existing Tims Camps evaluation processes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Provide youthcentered insights and feedback into policies procedures and practices.
  • Give youth perspective on appropriate staff strategies to handle challenging campercentered situations at camp and in classroom settings.

Evaluation project:

  • Brainstorm potential evaluation projects anchored in THFC strategic priorities from a youth lens select project to complete.
    • Project will focus on a shared area of interest for the Youth Evaluator and Tims Camps and must have implications for organizational improvements.
  • With Director Program Innovation cocreate a plan and timeline for project milestones (e.g. complete research in this area by X date develop outreach emails/social posts by X date finish information gathering by X date).
  • Research existing evaluation work across the youth development industry to determine impactful new projects.
  • Design and complete an evaluation project in collaboration with Director Program Innovation.
  • Connect with current and former campers to learn more about their experiences related to project focus area through written forms and video call conversations.

Additional tasks:

  • Coordinate and execute administrative functions related to surveys research activities and data analysis. This includes creating surveys using online software sending emails and reviewing incoming responses.
  • Collaborate with and support Impact and Campers Families and Communities team members on various program development measurement registration initiatives.
  • Support with other tasks as necessary.

Conference attendance:

  • Attend American Evaluation Association Conference in Kansas City Missouri USA on November 10th14th 2025 (expenses covered by THFC)
  • Publicly share about experience in Youth Evaluator (Summer) role. This requires comfortably speaking in front of small (up to 20 and large (up to 100 groups and speaking about the positive aspects of the experience and the challenges.

Does this sound like you

  • Must be a former Tims Camps summer program participant. Preference will be provided to participants who completed all summers and graduated from the program.
  • Between 18 and 24 years of age.
  • Completion of high school.
  • Interest in youth development youth advocacy and/or recreation and leisure.
  • Strong skills related to Microsoft Office: Power Point Excel Outlook Word and Teams. Preference given to those with additional experience using Canva.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail in managing work and reaching deadlines with competing priorities.
  • Resourceful team player with an ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time appropriately to complete all assigned tasks.
  • Strong initiative and creative thinking.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English).
  • Strong social and emotional skills.
  • Experience providing exemplary customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bilingual in French/English considered an asset.
  • Ability to review data and information with utmost professionalism discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to submit an acceptable Criminal Record Search.
  • Ability to legally work in Canada.
  • Ability to travel internationally to Kansas City Missouri United States November 10th14th 2025 (i.e. have a valid passport or the ability to get one by November). Travel accommodation registration and meal costs will be covered by Tims Camps.
