SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector I is responsible for visually inspecting electronic printed circuit boards (PCBs) and boxbuild electronic and electrical assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.

SHIFT DAYS/HOURS

Monday Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct visual inspections of electronic components subassemblies and assemblies per IPCA610 standards using Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) magnification lamps microscopes and other inspection tools.
  • Follow established quality policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Verify products against customer specifications and documentation under supervision.
  • Perform Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and ThroughHole inspections as well as rework inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Record inspection results accurately in Factory Logix or daily inspection sheets.
  • Communicate defects to production teams for prompt corrective action.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.
  • Attend daily team meetings and collaborate on quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe workspace.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and assist in problemsolving efforts.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the electronics or manufacturing industry preferred.

Communication Analytical & ProblemSolving Skills

  • Proficient in reading writing and comprehending English to interpret internal documentation and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic functions including addition subtraction multiplication and division.
  • Capable of interpreting performance data such as graphs and visual reports.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate product quality and ensure compliance with written standards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in basic data entry transactions.
  • Must complete the Milwaukee Electronics Component Identification course within one year of employment.
  • Must achieve a passing score on the IPCA610 certification course (current revision) within one year of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires regular verbal communication and active listening. Employees are frequently required to stand walk sit use their hands and reach with arms. Occasional physical activities include stooping kneeling crouching or crawling.

The role requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts fumes airborne particles and potentially hazardous chemicals. Noise levels in the work environment may vary from moderate to loud.

Attendance and onsite presence are essential functions of this position.
