The position serves as manager of the CORE HIV/STI Surveillance Unit in the Integrated Surveillance and IT Section n the Division of HIV/STI Programs. The position actively hires trains and supervises staff who conduct and coordinate HIV/Stage 3 and STI case reporting (Gonorrhea Chlamydia and Syphilis) activities in the State of Michigan in close collaboration with LHDs CBOs and private clinical care providers. This position also oversees all out of state HIV and STI case reporting and reconciliation through the Regional Interstate DeDuplication Review (RIDR) and Interstate Communication Control Records (ICCR) in coordination with HIV/STI surveillance associate staff in other states throughout the U.S. The position requires combining testing and laboratory data contained in the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) the Laboratory Management System (LMS) APHIRM the States Partner Services application and
HIV/STI Case Report forms into a comprehensive database the enhance HIV/AIDS Registry (eHARS) and ultimately the initiation of case follow up by the HIV and STI programmatic units. They will collaborate with Bureau of HIV/STI Programs staff to create policies and procedures for new initiatives and troubleshoot issues related to case reporting. This position is supported by federal funds from the CDC which is renewed yearly as funds are available.

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11 level or one year equivalent to the advanced 12 level.
Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 111 W. Edgewood Blvd. in Lansing MI OR 3044 W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit (Cadillac Place). Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
