Job Description

Role purpose

  • To provide high quality support to all members of staff in the Teaching Centre working with young learners 3 to 17 years of age)
  • To ensure a safe environment for young learners in BC premises and partner schools
  • To ensure that Child Protection systems and procedures are respected by staff and customers

Main Accountabilities

To support the British Council Child Protection Strategy by:

  • Supervision of young learners in BC and Partner school premises before during and after class during break times change over times and lunch times when required
  • To create and monitor the eregisters and related documentation for the holiday and academic year classes
  • Assist the CST with class changes to ensure that all students are in the right class and on the correct registers
  • Liaise with the Head of YL and Country Operations Manager to help ensure young learners parents and staff respect BC Roles and Responsibilities
  • Inform Senior Teachers and Academic Teams about any classroom issues and look after YLs when they are ill and informing centre manager Duty Officer and parents
  • Help with setting up and closing down Partner Schools and admin tasks when required and approved by Teaching Centre Management

Qualification

Essentials

  • BAC or equivalent schoolleaving certificate

Desirables

  • First aid training
  • BAFA (brevet daptitude aux fonctions danimateur)

Work Experience

  • Working with children in a school or outofschool environment

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: 12.51 gross euros per hour
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Leave: 35 leave days and 6 privileged days converted in hours added to your annual hours contract.

Additional Information

  • Contract Type: Indefinite Contract
  • Work Schedule:The post may require travel back and forth between British Council Partner Schools in Ile de France. It will involve working unsocial hours(evenings and Saturdays) and during the school holidays. YLA will receive a specific schedule per centre.
  • Working day: Wednesday & Saturday ONLY
  • Right to Work/Passport Requirement: Applicants must be eligible to work in France. The British Council will not be able to assist nonEU nationals to obtain a work permit for France
