Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeThe Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to lead a team of underwriters in managing underwriting activities and P&L responsibilities for the insurance products across various distribution channels. This includes manual underwriting of digital products renewal reviews quotation generation and building strong relationships with intermediaries to enhance underwriting service delivery and drive product innovation.
Location: Fresno California
Work Arrangement: This role will require 5 days/week in our Fresno CA office. The hours for this role are 7:30am4:15pm PST Monday through Thursday and 7:30am12pm PST on Fridays
The starting salary range for this role is between $92500 and $138500 depending on experience
Your New Role:
- Assure compliance of underwriting document handling including applications reports and claim forms.
- Direct employees to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Interface with agents and marketing staff for smooth coordination of applications and reports processing.
- Assure cross training of underwriting staff for all lines of business.
- Perform audits and provide final underwriting approval on agreements.
- Maintain industry and regulation knowledge making recommendations for changes.
- Manage budgeted resources by forecasting needs and accounting for expenses.
Work Experience:
Necessary Work Experience includes:
- Some relevant work experience.
Preferred Work Experience includes:
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
- Minimum of Crop Insurance experience.
Qualifications:
Necessary Qualifications include:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the roles complexity its location and the candidates professional background including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary regular fulltime and parttime employees will also be eligible for QBEs annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual encourage all candidates to apply even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
