Description

In Summary the Assistant Winemaker is responsible for:

  • Supporting the winemaking team as per key performance areas
  • Maintain routine winemaking operations such as tank mixing and tank ullage management
  • Day to day coordination of winemaking processes as directed by the winemaking team and fruit intake schedule
  • Assist the winemaking team with administrative duties as required including number and volume records and sample request forms
  • Assist the winemaking team through vintage in the management of the winemaking process stream
  • Supporting the sample preparation and routine quality activities in training and task redundancy
  • Drive QC tastings domestic wine show entries and additive QC checks


Skills And Experiences

Qualities Qualifications and Experience:

Essential

  • A desire to build a longterm career in the Wine Industry
  • Have completed or are currently completingOenology Degree
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a teambased environment
  • Organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work to strict timeframes
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills as well as ability to use computerbased technology and associated software

Desirable

  • Previous experience in the Wine Industry
  • Experience in Food Handling / HACCP Environment
