Job Description
Our Microbiology Lab team is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform bacteriology virology mycobacteriology parasitology and molecular microbiology testing. Our Microbiology Lab uses leading edge technologies to support an extensive menu of routine and specialized testing for our inpatient and ambulatory pediatric patient populations.
**Sign on Bonus is paid at three intervals based on length of service.

12:00pm 8:30am 8 hours/5 days)
Job Responsibilities:
Performs testing according to lab policy/procedure and documents testing and laboratory actions to comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Identifies source and nature of test problems and makes appropriate recommendations as to course of action.
Applies scientific methods in problemsolving and evaluates new methods and techniques. Assures that quality management criteria are met.
Ensures that quality control are performed and criteria met to adhere to established laboratory policies.
Performs routine instrument maintenance and minor troubleshooting
Trains rotating residents students physicians and new lab staff members on laboratory testing procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science Chemical or Biological Sciences or Associates degree in Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science.
MLS(ASCP) MT(ASCP) MLT(ASCP) M(ASCP) or equivalent certification or eligibility to certify preferred.
Meets all regulatory requirements for high complexity testing.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
One year of experience in a clinical laboratory
Certification or eligibility to certify as MLS(ASCP) MT(ASCP) MLT(ASCP) M(ASCP)

$28.50$46.60 HourlyAt Lurie Childrens we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity reflecting individual contributions experience and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position.
