Job Description
The Vancouver Golf Club is seeking the services of one or more Golf Shop Assistants and Golf Services (Backshop) Attendants. We are looking for individuals that have a strong desire ambition and passion for customer service and the ability to lead by example. Experience in Golf Retail and Customer Service would be an asset for these roles but not essential. Candidates that are interested in a career in golf or simply summer time employment are encouraged to apply.
Founded in 1910 The Vancouver Golf Club is one of Canadas most prestigious private clubs as well as one of the busiest with 43000 rounds played Vancouver Golf Club has hosted numerous championships most recently the 2012 and 2015 CP Womens Open while also having many club events and championships and a limited number of outside members are very active and expect the highest of service levels from our team throughout the yearround golf season. Situated 30mins east of Vancouver in Coquitlam VGC covers 170 acres of land with a championship 18hole course two par 3 practice holes practice facility with grass tees and undercover heated stalls teaching and club fitting studio and short game practice area.
Job Description
The successful applicant(s) will report directly to the Golf Services Manager and Director of Golf while working closely with our Senior Supervisors and fellow Golf Shop Assistants or Golf Services Attendants to deliver above and beyond service levels to our members and their welcomed guests. The successful applicant(s) will strive on providing world class service while having great attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities
Golf Shop Assistant
Work with Golf Shop Assistants on:
oAnswering phones and booking tee times
oChecking in Golfers keeping tee sheets up to date
oCharging Golfers for cart usage and green fees
oOrganize and merchandise product for sale
oActively selling merchandise to customers
Delivers exceptional member and guest services with a desire to go above and beyond
Other duties as they arise
Golf Services Attendant
Work with Outside Golf Service Team members on:
oMaintenance and organization of members bags and club storage room
oGolf Cart maintenance and storage
oPower Caddy maintenance and storage
oOperational duties and maintenance of all practice facilities
Delivers exceptional member and guest services with a desire to go above and beyond
Other duties as they arise
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to work on feet for the duration of shift
Work outdoors in all types of weather
Strong customer service skills
Ability to lift 30 pounds above your head (bag storage)
Team orientated / works well with others and has an upbeat attitude
Able to work in a fastpaced environment with the ability to move to and from multiple tasks
Experience with Golf Retail and Customer Service would be desirable
Compensation / Benefits
$15.65 $18 per hour based on experience

Term of Employment
Hire Date: March 20th onwards
Full time or Part Time Hours: March 20th October 31
Part Time hours only or end of employment period: October 31st onwards
