Job Description

St Aidans Anglican Girls School and St Margarets Anglican Girls School are two of Queenslands leading independent schools fostering in students confidence compassion academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning. We look for all staff to be committed to and in harmony with the Anglican ethos of the schools.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Outside School Hours Care Coordinator to join our OSHC team.

The Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service is located at both St Margarets (Ascot) and St Aidans (Corinda) Anglican Girls Schools. The OSHC services provide before school care after school care and vacation care to up to 40 children at each service. We are currently considering applications from suitably qualified candidates who are interested in either working fulltime across both schools or parttime (approx. 20 hours per week) at either school.

The Assistant Outside School Hours Care Coordinator works under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator to provide leadership and direction to the OSHC Educators (Assistants) to ensure a high quality of care is provided to students in a safe stimulating and caring environment.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children be approachable and supportive. You will have a warm and friendly manner and be able to relate well to children and their parents as well as other staff. This role has a unique balance of administration compliance and the joy of working with young people.

Some key responsibilities of the role include:

  • providing assistance in program planning implementation and documentation of a stimulating and diverse program relevant to the developmental needs of the children.
  • supporting theQuality Improvement Plans (QIP)andStrategic Inclusion Plans (SIP)and selfassessments within each service ensuring they are actioned effectively.
  • assisting with staff rostering and providing leadership and guidance to OSHC Educators (Assistants).
  • assisting with the administration and financial management tasks.
  • developing strong relationships with families and key staff.
  • providing children with a safe secure welcoming and nurturing environment.

About You

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with a solid understanding of the legislations relating to Education and Care Services National Quality Standards relevant learning frameworks and Child Care Subsidy (CCS). You will have:

  • Experience in an OSHC/ childcare environment and have a caring nature with a strong service focus.
  • You will possess as a minimum a Diploma of Childrens Services or relevant higher qualification.
  • Experience in being an Educational leader would be advantageous as would a working knowledge of QikKids.
