Job Description
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).
- Record keeping experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Dallas ISD schools communities and systems.
- Knowledge of Dallas ISD enrollment process preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated keyboarding and/or ten key calculator skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use and create products in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite.
- Verify the accuracy of all processed data recognize discrepancies and take corrective action.
- Task oriented selfstarter with the ability to perform and enter data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
- The specialist will work directly with students and families to connect them to programs and resources that will assist not only the familys living situation but also the students academic career.
- Conduct intake meetings with students/families to assess needs and provide resources.
- Work directly with students to provide resources for needs and create a school career plan.
- Follow up with students/families for feedback and work with Homeless Education Program tostrengthen the program based on this feedback.
- Work with campus staff to identify students/families that might be experiencing homelessness.
- Identify community partners/individuals to support schools as needs arise for homeless students.
- Assist in conducting trainings for the Homeless Education Program.
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification as appropriate.
