Description

Program Description: ChiArts hosts an annual threeweek summer camp designed for students in grades 68 to explore the artistic disciplines of Band Creative Writing Dance Vocal Music Theatre and Visual Arts in a joyful and nurturing environment led by artists from The Chicago High School for the Arts. Campers will receive preprofessional training in the arts from ChiArts faculty and alumni teaching artists.

Job Summary:

The Care Room Attendant will need to be available for various tasks with students and around the building. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Track Care Room attendance and supervise students in the Care Room Record the reason a student has been sent to Care Room
  • Assist school leadership with the movement of Care Room students including bathroom breaks parent guardian handoff etc.
  • If the health condition of a Care Room student deteriorates and requires immediate emergency attention the Attendant will call 911; notify the principal School Nurse (if available) and then the parent(s) or guardian(s)
  • Practice aggressive hand hygiene
  • Maintain social distance to the extent feasible
  • Wear appropriate PPE as determined by OSHW (CPS will supply PPE)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to commit to working for the entire three weeks of camp July 7th 25th MondayFriday 8:00am2:00pm as well as a training session in June
  • Prior experience working with children in activities such as those at a camp daycare or school preferred
  • Must be able to remain calm under pressure and be able to solve problems as they arise
  • Step into classrooms to assist with particular student health needs
  • Must be enthusiastic energetic and have excellent communication skills
  • Organization punctuality and a dedication to working with children is essential
  • Commitment to sharing and learning through the arts and the ChiArts mission
