Job Description

Job Title:Payroll Coordinator

Status:One 1 FullTime NonExempt
Hours:40 hours per week
Salary:$25.20$29.30 per hour (DOE) / Additional Differentials Must Qualify

Pay Differentials Offered (must qualify through testing or verification):

  • Language Translation Bicultural Spanish: $1.00 per hour
  • Bimodal Bilingualism ASL Sign Language: $1.00 per hour
  • Bimodal Multilingualism ASL Sign Language: $2.00 per hour

Overview:

Compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records and compiles and maintains payroll records by performing the following duties.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting calculating and entering data.
  • Updates payroll records by entering new employees reviewing changes in exemptions wages insurance coverage tax deductions and job titles and department/ division transfers.
  • Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings taxes deductions leave disability and nontaxable wages or other reports as requested.
  • Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. Provides employee training as needed.
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Sends notices to supervisors and employees of updated payroll due dates and policies.
  • Complies with federal state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

    Education/Experience:

    • One year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Conditions of Employment:

    • Must pass a clear background check with CACI DOJ & FBI.
    • Must have at least two years driving experience and be able to position requires the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes. Employees must maintain liability insurance that meets or exceeds the states requirements.
    • Must possess a valid CA Drivers License current auto insurance and a clean DMV printout (no more than 3 points)
    • CPR and First Aid Certified.
    • TB Exam and Physical at the time of employment.

    Driving Requirement:
    This position requires the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes and oncall rotation.

    • Driving is a required function of this position. Employees must use a personal vehicle that meet all agency requirements including maintaining liability insurance that meets or exceeds state requirements.
    • Employees are responsible for ensuring the timely renewal of their vehicle insurance policies and providing updated documentation to the agency to remain in good standing and compliant with position requirements.

    Training Provided:

    • RCS provides an indepth onboarding and training orientation which includes CPR/First Aid Crisis Communication/ProACT TraumaInformed Care Motivational Interviewing Collaborative Problem Solving introductions to all RCS departments and other valuable trainings.
