About the Role

Permanent part time opportunity where you will provide support to people with psychosocial disabilities to increase their independence social and economic participation to assist consumers to take more control of their lives and to better manage complex challenges of day to day living. This position is 4 days per week (or 30 hours across a 5 day week) where you can work from home or our Unley office with travel required across the Adelaide metro area to meet with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage consumers across the Adelaide metro area and develop recoveryenabling relationships by building a coaching partnership
  • Contribute lived or learned experience of recovery perspectives alongside the broader system of supports to ensure that supports provided are recovery oriented.
  • Assist in designing developing and maintaining individual recovery plans in line with consumers NDIS plan
  • Support consumers to identify early warning signs and identify strategies and adjustments in supports that may be required to meet fluctuating needs
  • Provide recovery focussed coaching to increase skills personal capacity and motivation
  • Provide direct and practical support to consumers so that they gain/maintain independent living skills
  • Support consumers to gain maximum benefit from their NDIS plan by linking with providers mainstream services and other relevant supports
  • Support the implementation and review of NDIS plans outcomes programs and services to ensure an appropriate standard of service safety and support is provided

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV Mental Health Community Services and relevant experience in mental health related peer work or psychosocial rehabilitation and support
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use lived experience of mental health to provide support and enable recovery
  • Current unrestricted SA drivers license
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with mental health services in planning and coordinating supports to implement a persons plan
  • Working knowledge of Mental Health Recovery Principles and application of Recovery Orientated Practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of psychosocial disability and recovery including traumainformed practice supported decision making and family inclusive practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with consumers to build a trusting coaching relationship that motivates and builds capacity to problem solve review progress reflect and learn.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check a NDIS Workers Screening Check and an SA Working with Children Check.
