Job Summary:
Position is assigned to the Security Services Department and is responsible for conducting directed investigations related to criminal violations or other events involving employees faculty students or staff. The coordinator is responsible for all phases of case management from preliminary investigation to final disposition including collaboration or referral to law enforcement and presentation of cases for adjudication of prosecution. Additionally the coordinator is responsible for awareness and resource assistance to all ongoing Security Services investigations. Serves as primary liaison with other Medical Center investigative personnel as well as local and regional law enforcement. Will lead development and maintenance of initiatives to include training of new personnel as well as supervisory development. The coordinator will assist Security administration in identification and development of new or revised training programs to improve operational performance.
What Youll Need:
- Bachelors degree related to health care or an equivalent combination of education and healthcare experience
- Demonstrated experience in an investigative position(s) as well as a minimum of 5 years service in a supervisory position
- Demonstrated experience in course development and instructional delivery
- Valid NC drivers license
What Youll Do:
- Organize prioritize and perform multiple tasks to complete job functions in an orderly efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively with management coworkers representatives from other agencies and the general Medical Center community clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Gather and disseminate information. Formulate concepts develop and deliver strategies and solutions for investigative activities. Identify and incorporate emerging investigative tools and concepts.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills and techniques. Effectively communicate policy/procedure to individuals both internal and external to the department; demonstrates professional writing skills; demonstrates strong public speaking skills.
- Identifies improvement opportunities sharing the results with Security Services designs strategies to make improvements where necessary and follows up on recommendations to determine effectiveness and where more changes may be necessary.
- Provides training opportunities resources curriculum and general support for the Security Services staff recommending future training and development programs as well as policy revisions and implementation.
- Presents training and development programs by identifying learning objectives selecting instructional techniques and managing classroom exercises and discussions.
- Maintains professional development identifying and participating in personal learning needs. Attending training and inservice as identified.
