- The Department of Revenues (DOR) Compliance Division is looking for multiple instinctive individuals to fill three Revenue Agent 1 (RA1 intraining to a Revenue Agent 2 (RA2 vacancies in Bothell WA. We are seeking two Mainstream Agents and one Spanishspeaking Mainstream Agent.

During the first few months you will receive hands on training in the office although telework may also be available. The details will be worked out between you and your supervisor.
The salary listed for this position does not include the 5 premium pay for positions based in King County.

- If you are not familiar with how our intraining works here is a simple breakdown. After selected a detailed in training plan will help you navigate through the program successfully. For the next 18 months you will perfect your communications skills ability to negotiate and other investigative methods in resolving revenue collection activities on delinquent accounts. You will also provide advice instruction and training to a diverse customer base. In addition to the above the list below are other responsibilities associated with a successful completion of the intraining plan and a successful advancement to RA2:
- Investigates and locates delinquent taxpayers using database searches the internet and third party resources.
- Takes collection action against noncompliant taxpayers which can include tax warrants bank/wage garnishments and revocation of business registration certificates.
- Conductsfieldwork and investigation on delinquent accounts at taxpayer places of business job sites and residences.
- Continuously records contact histories and taxpayer information throughout entire process on appropriate agency systems.
- Assists taxpayers/representatives with business registration guidance on completing tax returns and contacting other agencies when appropriate.
Qualifications
To qualify as a Revenue Agent 2 (range 50 $4410 $5929:
Two years experience as a Revenue Agent within the Department of Revenue.
ORBachelors degree in business or related field public administration accounting communications finance economics criminal justice political science law sociology or psychology ANDone year of professional experience in the collection of civil debts law enforcement adjustment of claims or investigations involving personal background business practices or fraud.
To qualify as a Revenue Agent 2 (intraining) (range 45 $3910 $5241:
Experience may be substituted year for year for education in any of the following areas:- Collecting or attempting to collect debts owed or due from an individual or any kind of business entity.
- Adjustment of claims or investigations involving personal background business practices or fraud.
- Personal or business finance tax auditing or examination and analysis of business tax records.
- Law enforcement.
- Military (investigation/intelligence work).
- Other related fields.
Two years as a Tax Service Representative Tax Information Specialist or other tax collection experience in the Department of Revenue
OR
Bachelors degree in business or related field public administration communications finance economics political science criminal justice law sociology or psychology (degree must be from an accredited college or university by the U.S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditation CHEA.
Additionally if you are interested in the bilingual position you must be:- Bilingual in Spanish and English abilities with both written and verbal communications (certification will be conducted by DOR).
- Able to interpret verbal communications from English to Spanish or Spanish to English.
