Position Summary:

Reporting to Senior Manager Operations the Senior Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing trouble shooting and optimizing the operational processes related to money movement settlements securitization and third party reporting. This position involves managing complex transaction workflows ensuring regulatory compliance and driving operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Money Movement / Settlements

  • Oversee and manage endtoend financial transactions including EFTs (incoming & outgoing) etransfers bill payments and remote cheque deposits files transfers as well as handling associated returned files.
  • Support client facing team members with money movement related inquiries and resolution.
  • Lead the analysis of transaction data to identify trends exceptions and discrepancies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for resolution.
  • Collaborate with finance on daily bank reconciliation to ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions.
  • Develop and implement strategic process improvements to optimize operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory requirement audit standards and internal compliance policies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and transaction logs to ensure transparency audit readiness and knowledge continuity.
  • Assist in the development testing and implementation of new systems and tools to support operations.

Mortgage Servicing

  • In addition to the daily processing of transactions for Investor Remittances this role will create sell and monitor securitized mortgage pools.
  • Interaction with key vendors including credit bureau reporting to Equifax obtaining Title Confirmation from our Title Custodian Computershare obtaining up to date Property Valuations and other miscellaneous items.

Qualifications & Experience:

Degrees Diplomas & Certifications:

  • The position requires a university degree.

Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in banking operations with a focus on money movement and settlements.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial software and transaction processing systems.
  • Indepth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Payments Canada file formats.
  • Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and wire transfers.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and other international payment systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Wellversed in product knowledge features policies and procedures.
  • High degree of accuracy superior customer service and professionalism.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
