As a Senior Risk Manager for international strategic change risk assessments you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving our international risk management framework for Capital Ones largest most complex initiatives.
The Senior Manager for Strategic Change Risk Assessments will support our Enterprise Services (ES) Risk office in Capital Ones first line of defense and will be on the forefront of enabling our business partners to efficiently and effectively deliver strategic change initiatives (e.g. international activities) while ensuring that risks are appropriately identified and mitigated. Specifically in this position you will help lead the international risk assessment processes for ES which includes executing and enhancing our risk management processes to achieve strategic transformational change objectives influencing outcomes supporting the broader enterprise International Risk Strategy and driving consistency and transparency to ensure that we consistently identify individual risks to mitigate as well as comprehensively roll up key themes and generate views of aggregate risk across the company. You will collaborate closely with associates and senior leaders across all lines of defense Lines of Business and other risk management teams to support this work. This includes developing and implementing risk management frameworks and approaches for the organization and managing a sustainable and mature process to identify assess mitigate and monitor risk.
Senior Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated risk and process management professionals with excellent analytical organizational risk management project management and communication skills. A successful Strategic Risk Manager operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working the international risk landscape (e.g. geopolitical laws / regulations) processes and associated controls and good risk management practices. They are forward thinking quick to adapt and technologically adept. Strategic Risk Managers have a broad level of exposure across the Lines of Business and have the opportunity to work with the business to create and implement innovative solutions to appropriately manage risks across the enterprise. The demands and highvisibility nature of this position require an expert with leadership presence a proven ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment and who can begin contributing immediately.
Responsibilities:
Drive and coordinate work related to Capital Ones emerging strategic change risk management function specifically developing the approach strategic change international risk assessment processes and conducting associated assessments
Track and assess international initiatives through Enterprise Wide risk assessment. processes working with the First Line Technology and Cyber teams Lines of Business and Second Line teams to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups
Provided embedded and proactive advisory within Capital Ones largest most complex strategic initiatives
Assist the ES Risk Enterprise Wide initiative and Country leadership team(s) in delivering their strategy and service model
Assist and drive project and program delivery including project and process management reporting engagement in senior leadership meetings drafting and reviewing materials for Senior Management and other governance activities
Participate in risk and other management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and project / program management practices
Support and lead crossfunctional projects across a variety of strategic initiatives including potential daytoday oversight over Capital One associates
Stay current on the changing geopolitical and regulatory environment with an understanding of how developments may impact our international operations
Support interactions with Internal Audit and Regulatory agencies related to our work as applicable
Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis
Identify and implement local process improvements to drive efficiency and maximize value
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in risk management
At least 7 years of experience planning and leading risk assessments and audits
At least 7 years of experience supporting partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 5 years of project or process management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
8 years of experience in risk management
5 years of experience leading or supporting an International program or Country Risk Management program
Ability to set direction manage expectations and lead crossfunctional teams
Ability to influence and interact effectively at all levels (i.e. Associate Executive leadership) to drive strategic outcomes
Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills to confidently interact with crossfunctional stakeholders across the organization (e.g. technology/cyber organizations enterprise business stakeholders and executive leadership)
Excellent problemsolving analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities demands and timelines
Consulting experience with a Big 4 firm

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Richmond VA: $175500 $200300 for Sr. Manager Cyber Risk & AnalysisCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
