Job Summary
The Natural History Museum of Utah seeks a fulltime Graphic Designer to assist its award winning marketing and communications team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Museums Sr. Graphic Designer to help create a full suite of engaging and onbrand graphics for print and digital media for NHMU .
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Sr. Graphic Designer to design and create print digital and environmental graphics for all Museum departments. Job responsibilities include: Manage graphics projects from conception to completion implementing feedback from the Sr. Graphic Designer Work under tight deadlines with quick turnarounds Maintain brand consistency Museumwide Collaborate with Museum colleagues and external stakeholders to inform design projects Communicate and coordinate with offsite vendors; solicit bids prepare work orders and attend press checks. Manage project details and deadlines. While this position is within the Philanthropy & Communications Department it serves all museum departmentsexcluding exhibit designto develop digital and print design pieces.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design Illustration or a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) plus 3 years of related experience and a portfolio at the time of the interview required; demonstrated effective communication skills; the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.
