The Ophthalmic Technician provides patient care in both clinic and procedural settings.
This is a fulltime position working Monday Thursday from 7:30 am 5:00 pm and Friday from 7:30 am 12:00 pm primarily out of our Edina clinic. This role will involve traveling at least 1 day per week to an offsite clinic in Coon Rapids or Blaine.
Minnesota Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Specialists is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (iHealth) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares and maintains patient exam rooms
- Room patients and obtain patient intake information
- Conducts examination including visual fields and digital imaging
- Order labs CT and MRI when necessary
- Assist in patient procedures taking place in both clinical and surgical setting
- Accompanies Surgeon to satellite locations when needed
- Instruct patients on medications tests and procedures
- Coordinating patient scheduling
- Follow up with patients regarding medical questions and patient education.
- Complete all patient forms such as disability and return to work forms.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Ophthalmic Certification or graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program preferred
- 3 years of clinical ophthalmologic experience required
