Position Summary:
Adjunct faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. To reach a broad range of students CWI encourages exploring alternative teaching styles and methods. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings in computermediated classrooms and over the internet. This position may include Information Technology classes taught during daytime and evenings at CWIs Ada County Center using inperson hybrid and/or online modalities.
Essential Functions:
Teach Information Technology approved curriculum as assigned based on experience and specialization in Cisco Networking and Security Technologies Cloud Security and Systems Administration and/or Cybersecurity degree programs
Classes taught may include one or more of the following 100level courses:
IT Essentials
Introduction to Networks
Switching Routing and Wireless Essentials
Fundamentals of the Windows Operating System
Network Services
Network Design and Security
Network Server Management
Linux System Administration
Introduction to Networks
Introduction to Networking
Server Operating Systems
Introduction to Information Security
Teaches contracted credit load of courses per the descriptions published in the CWI catalog
Utilizes outcomes assessment measures
Participates in instructional evaluation processes
Meets all scheduled classes promptly with any deviation being filed promptly and accurately through the appropriate channels
Monitors student placement in courses and student progress; maintains accurate timely records
Develop daily lesson plans and teaching aids using appropriate instructional technology
Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
Assess student outcomes and provide regular accurate and timely feedback to students
Maintain expertise in subject area and suggest improvements in curriculum design
Participate in departmental and college meetings as prescribed by the supervisor
Conveys by words and action the values expected by CWI
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate mix of workplace experience education and industry certification to teach specific courses
3 years of industry experience acquired by fulltime successful employment in the applicable field
Must hold relevant current industry certifications (e.g. CCNA CISSP CompTIA Network etc.
Teaching experience at the community college level preferred but not required; CWI can develop the successful candidate as an Instructor
Treasure Valley candidate with local industry affiliations preferred
