Performs ultrasound examinations to obtain diagnostic images of the fetus and maternal reproductive system.
Essential Functions:- Prepares patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
- Operates ultrasound equipment to capture images of the fetus and surrounding structures.
- Analyzes images to identify any abnormalities or potential health concerns.
- Communicates findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintains accurate records of ultrasound procedures and patient information.
- Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine utilizes new technologies and ensures equipment is properly maintained.
Education Requirement:- Degree in applied science with a focus in diagnostic medical sonography required.
- Graduate from an accredited medical ultrasound school preferred.
Licensure Requirement:- Actively registered in OBGYN by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMSOBGYN) required.
- Actively registered in Pediatric Echocardiography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within two years of hire date required.
Certifications:CPR certification required.
Skills:- Cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical pathological and diagnostic images.
- Extensive knowledge of normal and abnormal obstetric and fetalimaging.
Experience:- 2 years progressively responsible experience in OB high risk or MFM setting required.
- One year progressively responsible experience performing fetal echocardiography or willingness to acquire FE registry within 2 years preferred.
