SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANT:

POSITION PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director and under the daily lead direction of the Head Athletic Trainer the Athletic Trainer I follows well established guidelines and procedures in providing the full range of clinical athletic training functions for studentathletes during training and competition in accordance with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) guidelines. The Athletic Trainer I also provides injury prevention evaluation and rehabilitation for athletic injuries.
In addition the position will receive technical direction from the Director of the Student Health Services on medical charting peer review privileging/credentialing medical releases and HIPAA compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Equivalent to a bachelors degree in athletic training physical education kinesiology or related field of study or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Course work must include completion of the Board of Certification (BOC) curriculum requirements.
LICENSES Possess and maintain National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification for Athletic Trainer. Possession of a valid drivers license or ability to obtain by date of hire. CPR/AED certified. Please attach these documents to your application.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKAs)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: MEDIUM WORK up to 40 of the activities involve sitting standing squatting kneeling or walking; lifting heavy weight objects limited to 50 pounds; may involve pushing and pulling objects within the weight limits. Required to perform work of an active nature requiring sufficient physical stamina to carry out duties. Requires use of welldeveloped hand eye coordination for precise motions and use of small instruments. Requires ambulatory ability to lift mediumtoheavy weight materials balance and walk and stand for extended periods of time. Requires hand and arm strength to perform massage and kneading movements. Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and recognize physical injuries.
