Role Overview:
We are looking for a talented midlevel Test Automation Engineer to join our global Clinical Development Innovations team. This role will engage in the comprehensive software development lifecycle (SDLC) involving design development testing deployment monitoring and maintenance of software systems. This role requires a solid foundation in software development the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams and a commitment to learning and growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to our governance principles and ways of working.
  • Design develop and maintain all elements of our system testing and test automation.
  • Collaborate with product managers designers and other engineers.
  • Write clean scalable and efficient code.
  • Troubleshoot debug and upgrade existing software.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

This is a homebased 2 year fixed term role in the United Kingdom.

Candidate needs experience with Cypress testing software

Qualifications & Experience:

Must have:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field
  • Previous Test Engineer experience that provides the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 35 years experience).
  • In some cases an equivalency consisting of appropriate education training and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Handson experience and proficiency with Test Automation frameworks and tools including and Playwright and TypeScript
  • Familiar with both Azure and Azure DevOps
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of serverless architecture and cloud computing principles
  • Excellent knowledge of TDD BDD including unit test integration and E2E testing
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to have:

  • Handson experience with C# .Net
  • Contributions to opensource projects or personal projects.

Nice to have Certifications:

  • Certified ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer
  • Certified CSTAS Software Test Automation Specialist
  • Certified Test Automation Professional (CTAP)
  • Certified Professional in Test Automation (CPTA)

  • Develop and execute automated tests to ensure software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Deployment and Operations:

  • Assist in implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate the build test and deployment processes.
  • Create automated deployment of applications to our cloud environments.

Monitoring and Maintenance:

  • Monitor application performance and availability using appropriate tools.
  • Participate in the resolution of production issues and provide support in troubleshooting.

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
  • Seek mentorship from senior developers and actively engage in learning opportunities.
  • Participate in team meetings standups and retrospectives.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay uptodate with the latest industry trends tools and technologies.
  • Suggest improvements to the development process and toolchain.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

Performance Metrics:

  • Code Quality: Measured through code reviews adherence to coding standards and test coverage.
  • Task Completion: Timely completion of assigned tasks and contributions to project milestones.
  • System Reliability: Uptime and performance of deployed applications.
  • Issue Resolution Time: Time taken to identify and assist in resolving production issues.
  • Team Contribution: Participation in team activities collaboration and continuous learning efforts.
