Description

Three Research Fellow positions are now available in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida. The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking research fellows to expand its ongoing research initiatives in artificial intelligence ultrahigh field MRI and quantitative and functional imaging. Applicants should have a strong background in medical imaging research and those from nonclinical backgrounds that integrate with Radiology (e.g. those holding a Doctoral degree in physics engineering computer science applied mathematics statistics etc. are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants with a clinical background and demonstrated research productivity will also be considered.

In the first year the successful candidate is expected to:

  1. Write at least two first authored manuscripts
  2. Write at least one coauthored manuscript
  3. Contribute to at least one extramural grant application
  4. Contribute to ongoing intellectual property development
  5. Develop a skill set that will allow the fellow to be competitive for next steps in their career growth

The position is available for one year with the potential for extension. The salary will be based on the applicant experience and the Mayo Clinic guidelines. A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peerreviewed publications. Proof of English proficiency is required for J1 ShortTerm Scholars Research Scholars Professors Specialists and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

The following is required for completeness of application:

  1. Current curriculum vitae with bibliography
  2. Proof of masters or doctoral degree (copy of diploma or final transcript with English translation if applicable) or a letter indicating you have fulfilled all doctoral program requirements and are eligible to graduate.
  3. Cover letter that includes intended area of research and faculty advisor in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Florida if already identified.

Researchers have access to an oncampus cyclotron 3T PET/MR system ultrahigh field 7T MRI system and photoncounting CT simulation labs and other facilities.



Qualifications

Must have a Ph.D. M.D. or equivalent degree in a field deemed relevant.
