The Department of Corrections is on the lookout for a qualified Environmental Engineer Consultant to join their team. This role designated as a Professional Engineer is integral to the Bureau of Operations within the Department of Corrections. The position blends engineering expertise with operational and regulatory consulting focusing primarily on activities related to utilities and environmental concerns. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Corrections Environmental Engineering Consultant is a role designated for a Professional Engineer within the Department of Corrections specifically in the Bureau of Operations. This position integrates responsibilities as an engineering operational and regulatory consultant with a strong focus on activities related to utilities and environmental concerns. Typically this role does not involve direct oversight of personnel or systems except in exceptional circumstances where intervention is required to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Additionally this position is an integral part of the Departments Continuity of Government Relocation Team. Should there be a need to temporarily move essential functions from the Central Office to a field location due to an emergency the individual in this role will actively engage with the Relocation Team and carry out all tasks as assigned by the team leader.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development design and/or construction.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists.
