DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Corrections Environmental Engineering Consultant is a role designated for a Professional Engineer within the Department of Corrections specifically in the Bureau of Operations. This position integrates responsibilities as an engineering operational and regulatory consultant with a strong focus on activities related to utilities and environmental concerns. Typically this role does not involve direct oversight of personnel or systems except in exceptional circumstances where intervention is required to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Additionally this position is an integral part of the Departments Continuity of Government Relocation Team. Should there be a need to temporarily move essential functions from the Central Office to a field location due to an emergency the individual in this role will actively engage with the Relocation Team and carry out all tasks as assigned by the team leader.Interested in learning more Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of training period. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development design and/or construction.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
