The Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has three major operational divisions: The Colorado National Guard Civil Air Patrol and Veterans Affairs. These divisions utilize state and federal resources to provide our communities state and nation with a ready military force for national defense and State emergency response as well as providing assistance to our Colorado Veterans.The Department has a strong culture of service. Our mission is to protect the citizens of Colorado their property and the environment on a twentyfour hour a day basis and to provide trained military units in support of civil authorities for domestic emergencies and in support of federal combatant commanders for national defense and homeland security missions.

The Hotel General Manager manages all aspects of the lodging and conference facility on base at Ft. Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs. This lodging facility consists of four lodging buildings of 339 rooms with a capacity of 706 individuals 3800 square feet multipurpose event center 2000 square feet of fully digital 175 seat auditorium a 700 square foot stage 6000 square feet open air amphitheater 2600 square feet fitness center two 3000 square feet kitchen and dining areas and other classrooms and range training areas. This is a unique facility that will cater to both military and civilian guests. This position will create the administrative and operational structures from the ground up and will build the team that provides the services to guests. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Eight years of professional experience in hospitality management in a management capacity of catering manager food and beverage director housekeeping supervisor front desk manager night auditor or general manager.
OR
Four years of professional experience in hospitality management in a management capacity of catering manager food and beverage director housekeeping supervisor front desk manager night auditor or general manager;
AND
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Hospitality Hotel Management Business Administration or related management field.
Substitutions
Credit will be granted for the completion of a certificate program or vocational school in Hospitality Hotel Management Business Administration or a related management field as determined by the department on a yearforyear basis.
