Job Summary:
The Risk Treatment Senior Consultant is a key position within Northern Trusts enterprise risk management function charged with the responsibility of helping to oversee risk treatment controls testing and issues management. Sitting within the 2nd line of defense this position reports to the Risk Treatment Director and will play an important role in governing risk treatment and related activities establishing deep relationships with the 1st line of defense. The core responsibilities encompass oversight of risk treatment control testing issues management and remediation control monitoring policy exceptions and thematic analysis. The Risk Treatment Sr. Consultant role will support the Risk Treatment Director in fostering a culture of proactive risk treatment through training and monitoring adherence across the lines of defense.

Major Duties
Support sustaining and embedding risk treatment practices across lines of defense through training and adherence monitoring
Facilitate the oversight and management of identified issues including reviewing and approving remediation action plans escalating concerns and validating closure for highrisk issues
Ensure consistent controls testing practice across risk domains business units and legal entities
Maintain monitoring and oversight of issues management and remediation policy exceptions and controls; tracking and reporting on compliance with applicable ERM Policies and Standards
Produce impactful and insightful thematic analysis to support proactive risk management
Engage with Data/Tech teams and Risk Enablement team for relevant models for risk aggregation and reporting based on Risk Treatment and Issues Management and related BAU

Experience and Qualifications
9 years experience in risk management including enterprise risk management experience preferably at a largescale financial services organization
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing training and monitoring enterprise risk treatment practices supporting effective implementation and sustainability
Demonstrated experience in controls testing and monitoring
Proven capability in highquality including both independent as well as influencing crossfunctional stakeholders to drive change
Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar Governance Risk and Compliance tool preferred
Experience overseeing financial and/or nonfinancial risks including interpreting and adhering to associated prudential expectations
Ability to accurately identify escalate and drive actions to mitigate priority risks
