Job Summary: We are seeking skilled SetUp Technicians to oversee the daily operation setups and maintenance of our blow molding and roto molding equipment. In this role you will be responsible for daily mold and insert changes and coordinating with shift leads and operators to ensure the smooth operation of our molding equipment. This includes maintaining equipment molds and inserts performing regular services and maintenance procedures troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and effectively communicating across shifts and up through your supervisor. To ensure success as a SetUp Technician you should have experience in blow molding roto molding or similar plastic forming processes a strong mechanical aptitude excellent troubleshooting skills and effective timemanagement abilities. Ultimately a topclass SetUp Technician enhances production efficiency with accurate setups while ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance. Job Responsibilities: - Prepare molds for changeovers (inserts number and name plates trim guides date codes etc..
- Operate sitdown forklifts and manual lifting devices to move molds and other required items around the production facility.
- Perform mold changeovers in blow molding and roto molding machines as outlined in the Changeover Check Sheet and monitor performance.
- Execute weekly preventative maintenance duties outlined in the PM schedule for blow molding and roto molding machines.
- Conduct PM on ancillary equipment such as mold temperature controllers vacuum pumps etc.
- Collaborate closely with the shift lead and quality inspector to address any issues that arise during the shift particularly in safety quality and productivity.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues causing unplanned downtime.
- Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicate effectively with the production team and maintain a clean work area.
- Prepare and submit maintenance reports.
Requirements: - 2 years or more of work experience with blow molding roto molding operations mold setup and/or maintenance.
- 1 year of prior experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (forklift reach truck).
- Practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulic pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer and report writing skills.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
- Selfinitiative and excellent timemanagement skills.
